MOTORISTS APPRECIATE THE HARARE– BEITBRIDGE ROAD DUALISATION
The ongoing dualisation of Harare-Beitbridge Road has excited motorists who believe that it is in sync with the border modernisation and expansion project.
The modernisation project is now in its final phase.
“This is so exciting. We commend government for prioritising big projects like this,” a motorist said.
A site manager with one of the five contractors, Bitumen World Construction, Mr Bigboy Sibindi says his company has covered a distance of over 70 kilometres.
“We are working on dualising the tail end of Harare – Beitbridge Road. Our two sites in Beitbridge urban and Bubi are progressing well. Beitbridge urban site was time consuming as there are many accessories to attend to. But we have covered much ground and we anticipate finishing by August,” he said.
The quality of workmanship at the border modernisation project is also being replicated in the massive dualisation of Harare – Beitbridge Highway.
The Second Republic has identified infrastructure development as a priority in the country’s pursuit of an upper middle income society by 2030.
